My favorite time of the year is starting. I really love everything about this time of year…
…the weather (nice and cool)
…the events (Christmas programs and parties)
…the break (things slow down a little bit in my job)
…the sharing (meals, gifts, laughs, memories)
…the food (an excuse to eat too much of food that is too good)
…the traditions (Thanksgiving Day race, Chinese on Xmas eve, oysters for breakfast on Xmas)
There is just so much that happens between Thanksgiving and New Years. It’s almost depressing once you reach January 2nd. If you even think about it, January 1 is even a bummer.
This year will be mine and Beth’s last set of holidays just to 2 of us. Next year Brennen (we’re having a boy, if you haven’t heard) will be with us.
So, here’s to a great start to a great season.
What are you doing to celebrate? What are your traditions?
First or all it is not depressing until Jan 6! You cannot say that my brithday falls in the depressing times! 🙂 And you forgot to mention that I make doughnuts for breakfast on Christmas morning for those of us who don’t like to eat oysters 🙂
