Even though I’m in Chicago now, I thought I’d go ahead and finish up my pre-conference series of posts.
What I’m Looking Forward To:
- Youth Ministry Stuff–I love youth ministry. I really do. I love reading about it, learning about it, talking about it, practicing it. All of it! This weekend is gonna be a weekend packed with Youth Ministry. Right on!
- Worship–I don’t get the opportunity to worship with the style of music I prefer a lot. (if you’re planning on leaving a comment about being able to worship God with any kind of music or anything like that…don’t bother. You missed the point) So, whenever I’m at conferences like this I get that chance.
- Not In Charge–it’s nice to be at things like this and to not be in charge of anything! I can sit back and just enjoy.
- Growth–a big reason I came to this conference is some of the workshop/tracks being offered. I’m doing a be refocus in my personal ministry and my church ministry back onto discipleship and that’s what I’ll be focusing on this weekend. Can’t wait for some new insights, approaches, and ideas.
- Fun–with a convention center full of a few thousand youth ministers, you can’t help but have fun!
What I’m Not Looking Forward To:
There’s really only one thing I’m not looking forward to…
- No Beth–I hate the fact that I’ll be 5 days without my wife (and my dog, Otis :)) Beth is almost 6 weeks from her due date and so we thought it best for her not to make the trip up here. I’ll miss hanging out with her, making stupid comments to her, and sharing this growing experience with her.
